IQuity (Nashville, Tennessee) has announced the release of IsolateFibromyalgia, an RNA analysis of blood samples, for the fast and accurate detection of fibromyalgia syndrome.

IsolateFibromyalgia shows, with 94% accuracy, whether a patient’s gene expression pattern is consistent with fibromyalgia and can be ordered from Results are returned within 7 days of receiving a patient’s blood sample, which can reduce the time to diagnosis by months. Previously, IQuity has released similar tests for multiple sclerosis and inflammatory bowel disease.

These tests were developed using machine-learning methods to create algorithms that compare a patient’s RNA profile to that of healthy subjects and those with specific diseases identified with IQuity’s robust database of gene-expression data. IQuity’s researchers examined approximately 600 samples from patients suffering from a number of conditions, including fibromyalgia, rheumatoid arthritis, systemic lupus, and clinically diagnosed depression, as well as healthy patients.
